<<These deeply talented and experienced musicians weave traditional and contemporary original music together with remarkable sensitivity, reflection and interconnectedness. Their intuitive interplay and emotional depth is both rooted in traditional style and refreshingly modern. The concert I attended gently carried me to a place of serenity and happiness. If you have an opportunity to attend a concert with The Halifax Rättvik Trio, don't miss it.>> - Audience member Sylvia Euale
<<We welcomed "The Halifax Rättvik Trio" to our concert venue "Tomnäs Lada". Three fantastic virtuoso musicians who really touched their audience deeply, with their own meditative and beautiful compositions, which were mixed with Swedish and sometimes energetic Canadian folk music. A happy and satisfied audience left the barn that evening.>> - Organizers Peter and Barbro Grind

Three friends came together in Sweden in the summer of 2023 and decided that they would share their love of the traditional music from their respective countries together as creative musical travelers. Jennifer hails from Halifax, a lively city on the Atlantic coast of Canada where many different folk genres can be heard, such as Maritime Old Time, Cape Breton, Irish, Acadian, and others. Stefan and Peter live in Rättvik in Dalarna, Sweden, an area particularly rich with musical tradition where cultural forms are passed down with pride and transformed anew with each generation. As experienced performers, recording artists, and educators each in their own right, Peter, Stefan, and Jennifer found themselves united by their passion for their own and each other's music, and the desire to explore the folk genres of all the geographical points in between. They released their first album "Havet" in 2024 and have toured in Sweden and Canada ever since.
